Isle of Dogs
The films of Wes Anderson are some of the most critically acclaimed films in recent years. He was originally praised for his live action movies such as Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. Later, he moved onto directing animated films. The unique aspect of Wes Anderson's animated films is that he chooses to work in stop-motion animated. This is one of the more time consuming forms of animation and it's also one of the coolest looking. Some examples of classic stop motion animation include Gumby, Wallace and Gromit, and the holiday classics from Rankin and Bass (such as the famous Burl Ives voiced Rudolph). Wes Anderson is continuing the tradition of stop motion animation by filming Isle of Dogs. It's already generated an enormous amount of buzz and many fans of his prior animated feature, Fantastic Mr. Fox, are looking forward to seeing it in the theaters.
